A 9-acre complex consisting of a Visitor Center and four historical buildings including a 1933 Cobblers Shop, the Burton Auto Garage, the Cotton Warehouse and the 1914 Farmers Cotton Gin. Designated a national landmark by the American Society of Mechanical Engineers, the Farmers Cotton Gin is also listed in the Texas Historical Commission and the National Register of Historical Places and is quite possibly the last surviving cotton gin of its vintage that still gins and bales cotton the old fashioned way. Our hours of operation are Cost is $6 per adult - $4 per student and under 5 free. Discount of $1 per person if a group of 10 or more. The cotton gin is the oldest operating cotton gin in America.
